NDSF 2015: Gbenga Sesan enjoins youth to embrace Internet, 3 students wins Etisalat Cliqlite

The first-ever Nigerian Information Technology (IT) Youth Ambassador and now the Executive Director, Paradigm Initiative Nigeria (PIN), Mr. Gbenga Sesan has enjoined the youth in the country to embrace the Internet in order to ensure a sustainable economic development and livelihood, ITRealms reports.

Speaking on Digital Jobs while addressing an audience, mostly youths, at the Nigeria DigitalSENSE 2015 Forum (NDSF) on Internet Governance for Development (IG4D) recently in Lagos, Mr. Sesan encouraged the youths to explore the world of the internet, adding that the young ones must have the passion for that thing which they love and be able to make extra personal sacrifices in other to excel in their endeavours. 

ITRealms reports that the IT Ambassador began by pretending to ask a very difficult question which scared the uniformed students whom the question was intended.

However, three students were bold to come out but ironically, Sesan said he had no question, instead, he pronounced a donation of three Etisalat Cliqlite e-learning devices to the three students whose names were given as: Koleola Anuoluwapo, Igweonu Chiamaka from Murtala Mohammed Airport School, and Sotayo-Aro Kimilokan from Mafoluku Senior Grammar School, Oshodi.

The Lead Strategist and Group Executive Editor of DigitalSENSE, Mr. Remmy Nweke also donated a copy each of his book “A Decade of ICT Reportage in Nigeria” which was presented to the students by the Ambassador, Gbenga Sesan.

PIN Executive Director, explained that what transpired in the hall was exactly what the Internet does to people; “People are scared of the internet but those who are bold enough to embrace it reap the benefit thereof,” he said

He said there is no time for procrastination, that the hour to start is now, therefore urged them to visit www.code.org to learn one skill or the other to earn extra income

Sesan, said as undergraduates one can start exploring the net and learn one thing or the other that would give them an edge over their mates and companies would be begging to be in their employ rather than them carrying files looking for jobs, reports ITRealms.
