Former Governor of Jigawa State, Alhaji Sule Lamido has been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over money laundering, ITRealms reports.

Already the governor’s two sons, Mustapha and Aminu were also arrested in Abuja.

The former Governor of Jigawa State, Alhaji Sule Lamido, and his two sons, Mustapha and Aminu, were arrested this morning by operatives of the commission. They were actually arrested very early this morning, they were with us for hours before they were flown to Kano for possible arraignment on Wednesday (today). They left Abuja Airport around 2.30pm. It is most likely that they were arraigned (Wednesday), that I can tell you,” a source close to The Punch narrated.

ITRealms also gathered that about ten former governors are facing the heat of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) as the law enforcement agency has stepped up its fight against corruption.

According to another report by Vanguard, the EFCC has closed in on 10 former governors who are standing trial for looting the treasury of their respective states when they were in the saddle.
