Professor
Ganiyu Adesola Aderounmu has been elected the Nigeria Computer Society (NCS) President
to pilot the affairs of the group for the next two years, ITRealms reports.
The
election which was part of the programme at the just concluded Annual General
Meeting (AGM) of the group in Akure,
Ondo State on July 24, saw Aderounmu poll 88 votes as against Chris
Uwaje’s 62 votes.
The
position of Deputy President, ITRealms
gathered, went to Mrs. Veronica Ola Owolabi after defeating Mr. Emmanuel
Emecheta.
Aderounmu
who is a Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering,
Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Fellow, Nigeria Computer Society, is a
registered professional engineer with Council for Regulation of Engineering in
Nigeria (COREN). Professor
Aderounmu received his B.Sc. Degree in Computer Engineering and M.Sc.
Degree in Computer Science from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife in 1991.
