SCAPO demands apology from Southern Cameroons over annexation

The enlarged meeting of the National Executive Committee of the Southern Cameroons Peoples Organisation (SCAPO) Political Party ended in Bamenda on August 15, 2015 with a demand of an apology from Southern Cameroons over annexation, reports ITRealms.

In a four-point communique made available to ITRealms and signed by chairman, Ways and Means Commission, SCAPO, a Southern British Cameroons Political Party, Rt. Hon. Aloysius Ntemfac Nkong Ofege, said the apology must get to the organization within the next 30 days.

SCAPO also invited the United Nations Organisation, UNO, to set up a Transition Administration in the former United Nations Organisation Trust Territory of the Southern British Cameroons.
In addition, SCAPO demanded a national apology from the people and the government of Cameroun Republic (French Cameroun) to the people and State of Southern Cameroons within 30 days for annexation and colonisation whereas on April 21, 1961, at the UN General Assembly, the said French Cameroun voted “NO” on UN (GA) Resolution 1608 XV concerning the independence of Southern British Cameroons and on the proposal for Southern Cameroons to join her.
Further, SCAPO sought immediate restoration of the State of Southern Cameroons and all its institutions as improved.
According to SCAPO, a public statement by the government of Cameroun Republic either accepting or rejecting the proposal by the African Commission on Human and Peoples Rights (ACHPR), for dialogue between the State of Southern Cameroons and French Cameroun on Peaceful Separation after what could only be characterised as a failed union.
“The national and international press, as well as the national and international community especially the good people of Southern Cameroons, are hereby informed that the Southern Cameroons Peoples Organisation, SCAPO, is now fully functional as a Southern British Cameroons Political Party with activities to be announced in the coming days,” Ofege said.
