The National Information Technology Development Agency
(NITDA) has said that its continued partnership with the organisers of the
GITEX annual technology event this year is to leverage on the gains of 2014
collaboration, reports ITRealms.
Representative of GITEX Media Partner in Nigeria, Mr. Segun
Oruame, made this known at the launch of the Local Organising Committee (LOC)
recently in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
He also said that the need to leverage the gains of 2014
paved the way for the 2015 relationship which is ongoing between GITEX and
NITDA to blossom, hence the national agency will be supporting GITEX as a
premier agency on behalf of Nigeria.
According to him, NITDA's mandate is vast, and focuses which
foster development of Information Technology (IT) in Nigeria.
As at date, he said, NITDA regulates, monitors, evaluates
and verifies progress on an ongoing basis under the supervision and
coordination of the Federal Ministry Communication Technology (FMCT) in
Nigeria.
