The General Manager, Regulatory Affairs at
MTN Nigeria, Ms Oyeronke M. Oyetunde has emerged the new president of the
Nigeria Internet Group (NIG), reports ITRealms.
Ms Oyetunde was elected unanimously as the
sole nomination at the 2015 Annual General Meeting of NIG. She will steer NIG
till 2017 when another round of election is expected.
The vice president, Mr. Temitope Fashedemi
who was returned for the second term as well as Dr. Bayero Agabi as Publicity
Secretary, and Mr. Dapo Adejokun as Treasurer.
Also in attendance was a member of the NIG
board of trustees, Professor
Caleb Adeniyi Osuntogun, and executive secretary among others.
ITRealms gathered that the new Executive
Committee members of NIG were elected at AGM held at the Golden Gate, Ikoyi,
Lagos on Friday August 28, 2015.
Ms
Oyetunde has been with MTN Nigeria since 2004 traversing Senior Manager
Regulatory Affairs, Regulatory Affairs Manager after an instinct with Aluko and
Oyebode, a law firm.
She
has since proved herself, a seasoned, highly
experienced telecommunications regulation manager as well as a skilled and
dynamic corporate counsel.
Her strengths, ITRealms gathered include the ability to
progressively articulate her client's position to sometimes hostile regulators.
