AirWatch Enterprise Mobility Management has given a boost to
the Electronic Flight Bags (EFB), according to the Chief Operating Officer
(COO) of Gulf Air, Captain Nasser Al Salmi, reports ITRealms.
Gulf Air is the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain
and one of the longest serving airlines in the Middle East.
The COO also informed ITRealms that by deploying AirWatch
Enterprise Mobility Management in 2014, Gulf Air has transformed its aircraft
operating efficiency and achieved tangible business benefits.
“Gulf Air is committed to all new technology that
streamlines our operational performance through integrated solutions for
advanced information management in the air and on the groun,” he said.
Stressing that AirWatch systems reduced paperwork, increased
efficiency and improved access to information for pilots where it is most
needed.
“The AirWatch-managed electronic flight bags meet these
requirements, helping bring technological advances of computer information
delivery and management to the flight deck,” he declared.
Further, he said, Gulf Air pilots routinely review planned
flight maps and flight paths, devise contingencies and inspect passenger and cargo
information to optimize operations.
“With AirWatch content locker, Gulf Air’s aircraft manuals
and flight documentation are now easily accessible to pilots in a central
repository on their iPads,” he said.
