A Nigerian university student has reached the finals of the 2015 Student Lab hosted by GITEX organisers with the support of United Arab Emirate Ministry of Presidential Affairs and Google, reports ITRealms.
The student, whose name is still under key by the organisers is among others from Bahrain, India, Palestine and UAE at the finalist stage of the competition.
Student Lab is an innovative ICT competition that aims to recognise and promote tomorrow’s technology leaders. The winner will receive AED 30,000 about N1,626,070.62, the runner-up will receive AED 20,000, and third place will receive AED 10,000.
The organisers said, the finalists are those working on projects such as smart traffic, education, healthcare, energy management, and document verification.
"We are excited to participate as a Student Lab partner at GITEX. Education is a big priority for Google, and we look forward to sharing our experience to help more people discover, connect with, and love learning,” said Abdel Wahed Bendaoua, Head of Enterprise, Emerging Markets - EMEA, Google.
