Afon who said CSEAN is ready to support any innovative idea that is in tandem with the association’s goals, was speaking at the induction ceremony of the Lagos State branch in Ikeja on Friday, stressing that the vision of the group is to see that CSEAN is launched in the 36 states of the Federation in no distant time.

“Although CSEAN is only about two years, it is doing a lot in solving the cyber security challenges of the country including the launch of Stop, Think and Connect (STC) project, which aims to make the web a safer place,” CSEAN president said.

Intending members, Mr. Afon said, are meant to undergo rigorous admission screening and assessment processes including reference, signing of code of conduct and most importantly having in-depth professional knowledge of cyber security.

He equally said that any member caught contravening cyber security laws will be handed over to the police for appropriate sanctions as the association is collaborating with security agencies and delisted too.

ITRealms further reports that the induction which had other highlights including a launch paper entitled: Advanced Persistent Threats (APT) by a United Kingdom (UK)-based ethical hacker, Mr. Peter Chukwuenweniwe, took a critical look at cyber security and measures that could be implemented to keep cyber space crime-free and checkmate the activities of hackers, witnessed the presentation of certificates to the inductees and constitution of Lagos State branch Executive of CSEAN.

The President emphasised that as leaders they must create time in order to live up to the expectation of their duties, advising them to be transparent.
