CradleCount app debuts, targets pregnant women




Young Nigerian science graduate, Kesandu Nwokolo and her team have developed an mobile device application to assist in reducing the incident of infant and maternal mortality in Africa called CradleCount, reports ITRealms.
Sharing insights into CradleCount, Nwokolo, who is a science graduate from Oral Roberts University, Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA said that CradleCount helps pregnant women and also health practitioners, mostly in accurate calculation of the expected date of delivery using the last menstrual period.

“It also informs the pregnant women how many days to the delivery of the baby,” she said, adding that the app has alerts that remind pregnant mothers to register and follow up with their antenatal care.

According to her, CradleCount app also sends regular pregnancy and health tips to expectant mothers and could also work without an internet connection.

CradleCount, she said, has been well designed with good aesthetic values and background colours that mothers could change the background of the app depending on the sex of the baby they are expecting.

“Cradle app is Free to download and easy to use,” she said, emphasizing that potential users like the pregnant women or health practitioners for pregnant women could download the app through the Google play store, by search for CradleCount. or through this link:
