The Lagos State Library Board has announced that the Ilupeju
Public Library would be closed to the public beginning from Monday, 8th
February 2016 to Monday, 14th March, 2016, so as to allow for the renovation of the facility
and electronic library (e-library), ITRealms reports.
In a press statement made available to ITRealms and endorsed by a Director of the Board, Mr. Tajudeen Lawal, indicated that the renovation is a Public Private Partnership (PPP) between the government and Custodian and Allied Insurance Plc.
Lawal also said that the renovation would entail upgrading of the library to an
e-library, updating of the books as well as stocking of new ones.
The Library board further expressed regret for any inconvenience the closure
might cause the public during the period, especially residents of Ilupeju and
its environ.
