Leading Information and Communication Technology (ICT)
infrastructure and services company, Galaxy Backbone Ltd, has obtained the Tier
III Certification of Design Documents for her National Shared Services Centre
Data Centre (NSSC DC 1) facility from the New York-based Uptime Institute
Professional Services (UIPS), reports ITRealms.
A letter to this effect signed by Uptime
Institute's Chief Technology Officer, R. Lee Kirby, said this certification recognizes the Galaxy
Backbone Ltd – National Shared Services Centre (NSSC DC 1) design, as
supporting any planned work on the site infrastructure without disrupting
operations.
The Tier III certification is based on the 100% design
documents review as submitted by Galaxy and the award is valid till February
18th 2018 subject to the limitations and extension request process set forth by
the Institute.
Uptime Institute Professional Services is a US based
organization globally renowned for the creation and administration of the tier
standards and certifications for data center design, construction, and
operational sustainability.
Galaxy Backbone Data Centre (DC) infrastructure is an
integral part of the National Shared Services Centre currently under
construction. The facility when completed will boast of a 395sqm DC floor space
with 112 usable equipment racks and expandable to four times the current
capacity (with 3 additional DC floors). The NSSC DC 1 includes an Enterprise
MPLS Core, dedicated NOC and Call Centre floors and state-of-the-art IDS2000
modular rack system.
