The National Information Technology Development Agency
(NITDA) will before end of this year, train some 100 Nigerians as Penetration
Testers, reports ITRealms.
Penetration Tester, also known as ‘Ethical Hacker’ ITRealms
gathered, probes for and exploits security vulnerabilities in web-based
applications, networks and systems.
Confirming this at a one-day Penetration Testing Checklist
Standards workshop by NiTDA, the Acting Director, Standard, Guidelines and
Regulations at the agency, Mr. Lazarus Nikoti said that the training of
Penetration Testers would happen sooner than expected.
This, he explained, is because it was adequately captured in
the 2016 appropriation bill of the agency.
In addition, ITRealms reports that there are plans by NITDA to
train yet another set of 1000 as part of its intervention strategies to
indicate or further opportunities in the Penetration Testing industry.
The aforementioned trainings, ITRealms reports, would serve
as Train-the-Trainers with focus on tertiary institutions to supply
participants, to build their capacities.
