The Association of Professional Party Organisers and Event
Managers of Nigeria (APPOEMN) has elected Gbemisola Ope as its latest president,
reports ITRealms.
Confirming this to ITRealms, Corporate Affairs Director at
APPOEMN, Mr. Emeka Achebe-Okosieme, said, this came as part of the third Annual
General Meeting (AGM) which ended recently.
He also said that the major focus of the AGM was to adopt a
new constitution and elect executives to pilot it affairs for the next two
years.
With the latest development, he said, saw the introduction
of Gbemisola Ope as the President of association to lead a nine-member
executive council.
“Funke Bucknor Obruthe passed the baton to Gbemisola Ope
after two years of outstanding service,” he said.
He equally quoted the new president as saying acceptance
speech, “I am excited about taking APPOEMN to the next level. It will not be
easy, it will be gradual and it will be a lot of fun. But with your support I
know it can and will be done”.
Further, Okosieme said the new executive has the mandate of
the association to work assiduously propagate its ideals, develop and maintain
standards while accommodating all stakeholders.
“This is the dawn of a new era in the event industry in
Nigeria,” he declared.
Other members of the APPOEMN’s executive council, he said,
includes Adefunke Kuyoro as vice president, Kemi Remi-Dairo, secretary, Titi-Moritiwon Ezeagwula Finance/Treasury
Director, Emeka Achebe-Okosieme, Public Relations Officer cum Corporate Affairs
Director, Ajibola Olatomirin-Richards as education director.
Whereas, Kehinde Onabanjo Iyola was elected creative and
event director, Taiwo Olamide Ajao is the logistics Director, while Joke
Odunowo is the director in-charge of welfare and hospitality.
