Twitter on Monday woke up to its responsibility by taking down the handle of
the Niger Delta Avengers (NDA), @NDAvengers, just as the blog site of NDA was also brought down, reports ITRealms.
It was also gathered by ITRealms that NDA, a militant group, used this handle to announce its rampaging activities which target mainly national oil installations.
This is coming after NDA had on Sunday proclaimed its latest attacks, which have negatively affected oil production in Nigeria.
The Sunday tweet by NDA, indicated the group attacked on oil facilities operated by Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, Chevron Nigeria Limited and Nigerian Petroleum Development Company to name a few.
However, the message on display when trying to access @NDAvengers on Twitter reads, “Account suspended! This account has been suspended. Learn more about why Twitter suspends accounts, or return to your timeline.”
The spokesman of the Avengers, Mudoch Agbinibo, confirmed the suspension in a statement posted on Facebook.
“Notice! This is to bring to your notice that our twitter handle @www.twitter.com/@ndavengers has been suspended and our blog @www.nigerdeltaavengers disabled,” Agbinibo said.
Appealing to fans and supporters with a promise they will soon launch a new accounts.
“We use this medium to appeal to our fans and supporter to be very careful with any website or twitter claiming to represent us. We shall launch new accounts soon! We must continue the struggle!!!” Agbinibo assured.
