Nigerian
techpreneur and the chief executive officer of Mandriva Africa, Mr. Dele
Ajisomo has been elected to serve on the board of the World Information Technology and Services Alliance (WITSA), under
the auspices of the Information Technology
Association of Nigeria (ITAN), reports ITRealms.
ITAN was established in 1991 as
Microcomputer Vendors Association of Nigeria (MiVAN) following visionary
initiative of Mr. Tayo Adeniyi, elsewhile Managing Director, Worldwide
Computers Ltd, before its initial transition into Computer Vendors Association
of Nigeria (CoVAN) and lately, the Information Technology (Industry)
Association of Nigeria (ITAN) in year 2000.
Confirming this to ITRealms, Mr. Ajisomo who is currently a council member of ITAN and also the National President, Open
Source Foundation of Nigeria (OSFON), declared, “Yes, I have just been elected
to serve on the board of WITSA for the next two years.”
ITRealms reports that Ajisomo’s election into WITSA board came at the 2016 General Assembly of the Alliance which saw a new
chairperson also emerging in person of Ms. Yvonne Chiu of the Information Service Industry Association of Chinese Taipei
(CISA).
