The Nigeria Internet Registration Association (NIRA) has
opened nominations for the 2017 of .NG awards to run through January 31 and
February 14, 2017, reports ITRealms.
NIRA President, Rev. Sunday Folayan, disclosed this to ITRealms at a news conference in Lagos, the nomination which would last for two
weeks would be followed by voting on February 20, this year.
The president has declared open, nominations for the 2017 edition
of NIRA .ng Awards beginning from January 31st to close at midnight of February
14th 2017 while voting will commence on Monday, February 20.
He also said that the jury would review all nominations for
eligibility and qualification to produce the final short-list of nominees which
would be released for general public via website.
According to the NIRA president, the awards committee may
reclassify or re-categorise entries and may even remove entries that fail to
conform to the entry requirements while entries that differs substantially from
the award criteria would be outright disqualified without prior notice to entrants.
The awards, Folayan said, are aimed at showcasing Nigerian
businesses, individuals, charity, public and private sector organizations which
help to contribute to a more secure, open, accessible and rewarding experience
for all internet explorers.
