The acclaimed fastest growing city in Africa, Lagos, is set
to host the biggest gathering of technology, finance and entertainment
enthusiasts at the prestigious Finance Mobile & Entertainment Summit (FMES)
2018, reports ITRealms.
This event is set to hold at the prestigious Oriental Hotel,
Victoria Island, Lagos, on Thursday March 22, 2018.
Managing Consultant, TechTV, the organizer of event, Don
Pedro Aganbi, told ITRealms that FMES
2018 comes with the theme, “Leveraging Mobile Entertainment Financing for
National Development.”
He also said, FMES 2018 would focus on how to advance
Nigeria’s economy using entertainment and the potential of digital tools
powered by widespread availability of broadband internet.
Noting that with the widespread adoption and use of smart
mobile devices, mobile is quickly emerging as one of the most engaging, dynamic
and profitable segment of the entertainment industry.
He revealed that a recent report by PricewaterhouseCoopers
indicated that the Nigerian entertainment and media market revenue would hit
$6.4 billion in 2021.
“This is the opportune time for businesses and governments
at all levels to seek to understand and then take a position to profit in this
burgeoning industry,” he declared.
The theme, Aganbi said, was chosen specifically to provide
practical insight into critical issues in the mobile entertainment space
including technology developments, financing options, creative and production
strategies, content aggregation, talent and licensing issues.
“It would equally focus on the future of entertainment and
the creation, distribution, monetization and consumption of content across different
mobile platforms” he said.
Aganbi lamented that currently the entertainment on mobile
has not even scratched the surface of what is possible. He posited that the
summit will be a platform to bring the industry’s thought leaders together to
explore the landscape of opportunities and challenges across the mobile
entertainment and payment ecosystem. It will also examine on how to harness the
power of smart mobile phones to engage, entertain and educate.
The ICT and entertainment enthusiast remarked that the epoch
making event will attempt to depict how broadband will influence the
entertainment industry under several points of view including digital content,
infrastructure, advertising, streaming among others.
FMES 2018, an initiative of TechTV will open
vistas for participation and will present the industry with the most effective
platform for partnerships, collaborations and integration into the Nigerian
mobile entertainment market in areas of consulting, technology, talent
management, mobile/online payments solutions and funding.
Participant will have the unique opportunity to share
experiences with others and reach out through the formal and informal sessions
that will take place throughout the Finance Mobile Entertainment Summit.
FMES 2018 is expected to be declared open by the Minister of
Communications Barrister Adebayo Shittu and Minister of Information, Culture
and Tourism, Alhaji Lai Mohammed.
