The Federal Government
has expressed shock at the invasion of the National Assembly and has ordered probe of the subsequent
snatching of the Senate mace by suspected thugs on Wednesday, reports ITRealms.
A press statement made available to ITRealms, the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, said the security agencies have been directed to immediately unravel the circumstances surrounding the breach of security that led to the invasion.
Also, he said the security around the National Assembly complex would be reinforced to prevent a recurrence.
ITRealms further gathered that the
Senate leadership led by Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu visited Vice President
Yemi Osibanjo to debrief him on the invasion of the Senate Chambers on
Wednesday.
