The Epe traditional rulers council may have thrown their weight behind the Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Lagos State governorship election, reports ITREALMS.
Making their declarations, Friday, the traditional rulers from Epe, Eredo and Agbowa-Ikosin at the palace of Oba Kamorudeen Animashahun, the Oloja of Epe Land, the Oba Babatunde Ogunlaja, moved the motion on behalf of other traditional rulers in Epe Local Government Area of the state.
The motion was seconded by the Oba of Alanyadelu in Eredo LCDA, near Epe, Oba Ganiyu Asumo.
In his speech, Oba Animashahun, said that the endorsement of Sanwo-olu was a collective resolution reached by all the traditional rulers in the community.
He also said that the endorsement became necessary for the progress and development of the Epe community and appealed to the APC governorship candidate not to neglect the ongoing road construction in the area.
“Epe has not enjoyed the dividends of democracy enough. The performance of the incumbent government in the community is commendable but more still needs to be done. Some of the road projects in the division are yet to be completed. I appeal to you, Sanwoolu to kindly complete the projects for us.”
In his remarks earlier, Babajide Sanwo-olu, the APC governorship candidate pledged to complete the ongoing projects in Epe division, declaring “I will run an all-inclusive government. I will ensure that all the uncompleted projects are completed.”
