The Federal Government (FG) has unveiled a new 60-page Nigeria international passport for diplomats with 10 years span, reports ITREALMS.
President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo were issued their new 10-year Diplomatic passport by the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) at the emergency Federal Executive Council (FEC) came to a close on Tuesday in Abuja.ITREALMS gathered that the passports were presented to them by the Minister of Interior, Abdulrahman Dambazau and assisted by the Comptroller General of NIS, Mohammed Babandede after their biometrics were captured and processed.
Also gathered was that aside from the 10-year validity, the red diplomatic passport, has 25 special features and difference from the existing passports.
According to Babandede, the new passport has an enhanced and self-tracking of application and “weather friendly.”
“The new passport has polycarbonate technology that eliminates damages,” he said, stressing that it will now save Nigerians in diaspora the time needed to frequently visit Nigerian embassies in search of new passports.
The new passport, he further said, will work concurrently with the existing passports.
