The Nigeria Internet Governance Forum Multi-stakeholders Advisory Group (NIGF-MAG), has announced its date for the 2019 edition of the Internet Governance Forum in Lagos, reports ITREALMS.
NIGF-MAG in a press statement available to ITREALMS, said it comprises the Federal Ministry of Communications (MoC), National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Nigeria Internet Registration Association (NIRA), Internet Society Nigeria Chapter (ISOC NG), DigitalSENSE Africa Media, Creative Technology Development International (CTDL), and Global Network for Cyber Solution (GNC), in collaboration with the Internet community stakeholders
According to NIGF-MAG, the 2019 edition would take place next month at Muson Centre, Onikan, Lagos Island, Lagos State, on July 11, 2019.
In addition, NIGF-MAG noted the overarching theme for the 2019 Edition is ‘‘Enabling Digital Commonwealth for Development’’.
“Overarching thematic sessions of the global IGF and harmonizing the inputs of Nigerian stakeholders into the Regional Global IGF framework covering: Cybersecurity and Trust; Internet Economy; Access, Inclusiveness; Diversity and Openness; Critical Internet Resources; and Emerging Issues,” part of the press statement read.
Also, ITREALMS gathered that the NIGF 2019 will be preceded by two events; namely the Nigerian School of Internet Governance co-hosted with the Nigerian Chapter of the Internet Society holding on the 7th – 9th July, 2019.
While the Nigeria Youth Internet Governance Forum with the theme “Our Internet; Shaping the digital future” has been scheduled for the 10th of July, 2019.
