Top 10 states in Tricycles, Motorcycles non-compliance @September 2019 - ITREALMS

Kaduna State as at the end of September 2019, is on the upper ladder of top 10 states in non-compliance of the directives by the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) leading to some 430 offenders being arrested in the northern state, reports ITREALMS.

Following series of consultations with the Joint Tax Board (JTB), ITREALMS recalls that FRSC agreed to shift the commencement of enforcement from the earlier date of 1 August, 2019 to allow for more sensitisation and awareness, and further consultations with critical stakeholders on the imperatives of the clampdown till end of September, this year.

Also on the top 10 list included Nasarawa, Oyo, Benue, Kano, Katsina, and Delta. Others are Zamfara, Osun, and Ondo States.

While Nasarawa level of non-compliance saw to the arrest of 219, Oyo got 178, Benue 147 and Kano 132 followed by Katsina with 110 offenders.

In addition, Delta State took the 7th position with 92, and following by Zamfara with 76, then Osun with 66 and last on the top 10 is Ondo with 61 offenders arrested during the period.

ITREALMS reports that the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and the Joint Tax Board (JTB) have clamped down on tricycles and motorcycles without number plates and riders without class 'A' license effective 2 October, 2019.

This was confirmed to ITREALMS by the Corps Public Education Officer, Corps Commander, Bisi Kazeem, who said that at the weekend, FRSC recorded massive arrest of over 1,750 violators, for non-compliance nationwide.
