The Commissioner of Police in Anambra State, CP John B. Abang, has called on all hoteliers in the state to urgently installation of the Closed-Circuit Television (CCTv) in their premises, reports ITREALMS.
The CCTv, experts said, also known as video surveillance, is the use of video cameras to transmit a signal to a specific place, on a limited set of monitors.
CP Abang while reacting to recent robbery in a hotel in Isuanoacho part of the state in Awka-North Local Government Area, said that ccTV helps in exposing activities of criminals, especially in public places like hotels.
He reiterated calls on all hoteliers in the State to as a matter of urgency install CCTV Cameras in all hotel premises.
He equally advised them to do background checks on their staff as a proactive measure to enhance Safety and Security at their respective hotels and to avert similar incident please.
According to him, preliminary investigation led to the arrest of some four suspects with the aid of a Closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera installed by the hotel management.
This case, he pointed out, is under investigation and suspects are assisting the Police with useful information that will aid investigation after which those found wanting would be brought to book.

As said by SP Mohammed, on the 6/7/2020 one Engr Nwammadu Charles 'm' of Prince Charles Hotel Isuanuocha in Awka North LGA of Anambra State reported at Mgbakwu Police out-Station that on the 6/7/2020 at about 1:am, hoodlums climbed over the hotel fence and allegedly robbed some customers of their phones and other valuables.
