Chinenye Mba-Uzoukwu takes over @ISPON as president - ITREALMS

The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), InfoGraphics Nigeria Limited, Mr. Chinenye Mba-Uzoukwu, has taken over from Dr. Yele Okeremi, of PFS Solutions as the new President, Institute of Software Practitioners of Nigeria (ISPON), reports ITREALMS.

Mba-Uzoukwu who assumed office as the sixth President of ISPON, took over from the CEO of PFS Solutions, Dr. Yele Okeremi, who completed his one-term tenure of two years.

ITREALMS gathered that the new ISPON emerged following the recently concluded Annual General Meeting (AGM). 

The members of the new executive committee for the two-year term include nine others, namely Mr. Chuks Onyebuchi as 1st Vice President; Mr. Bimbo Abioye, 2nd Vice President; Mr. Lanre Adelanwa General Secretary; Dr. Abiodun Falade, Treasurer; Mr. Peter Ogedengbe Chair, Membership Committee; Mr. Wahab Sarumi Chair, Policy & Strategy Committee; Mr. Danjuma Attah Chair, Education & Capacity Building Committee; Mr. Bunmi Okunnowo Chair, Media & Publicity Committee; and Mr. Adekunle Ajiboye Chair, Diaspora Committee, while the Dr. Yele Okeremi (FNCS) Immediate Past President as ex-officio.

In his inaugural speech at the handover ceremony, Mba-Uzoukwu expressed thanks to the founding members of ISPON for their vision to establish a body that would outlive them and add value to the society at large.

He also appreciated the present members for their votes and active participation, whereas promising to build on the legacy that the immediate president, who served between 2018 and 2020.

Mr. Mba-Uzoukwu also called on Nigerians to support and encourage ISPON members and software developers in country through patronage of indigenous software.

The immediate past president, Dr. Okeremi in his earlier remarks, noted that ISPON has overtime continued to engage successive governments to implement policies and provide supports that will ensure the development of the Nigerian software industry. and called for sustenance of such drive.
