Canadian-based Nigerian of Igbo extraction, Mr. Kelechi Madu, has been appointed the Minister of Justice and Solicitor-General of the Province of Alberta in Canada, reports ITREALMS.
His appointment was proclaimed by the Premier Jason Kenney.
Affirming this on his LinkedIn page, soon after the announcement, Madu promised that everyone will have equal access to justice under his administration in the Alberta province and working on several critical democratic reforms.
Before now, he was the Minister of Municipal Affairs for the Province of Alberta
Madu was a member of the Legislature for Edmonton-South West for over a year and five months. Prior to that, he was the President and Managing Counsel, Kelechi Madu Professional Corporation, where he practiced real estate, corporate and commercial law, immigration appeals and civil litigations.
As at 2014, he was a Barrister & Solicitor at a law firm, Tisel Law Office, for over six years.
He is married with children.
