ITREALMS ... making leadership SENSE with digital news!
Despite his televised apology to journalism practitioners in the country over his recent outburst, the Oyo State Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has shunned the media parley convened by Femi Fani Kayode (FFK), in Ibadan in continuation of political tour, reports ITREALMS. Last Friday, Akwa-Ibom council of NUJ embarked on boycott of FKK press conference in solideratity with Eyo Charles of Daily Trust, who was violently insulted at a similar media parley in Calabar, Cross River State.
A section of journalists, ITREALMS gathered, early on Monday, received closed invitation to attend the planned event at 11am same day, but have been told by NUJ to boycott the meeting.
Confirming this, the Chairman, NUJ State Council, Demola Babalola, made the announcement on Fresh 105.9 FM this morning, saying no journalist should attend any media parley with the former Minister of Aviation in solidarity with the profession which was recently debased by FFK.
ITREALMS equally gathered that the earlier invitation sent to journalists reads: "You are specially invited to a media parley with Femi Fani Kayode(FFK), Venue-Chalton Gate Hotel, Ibadan. Time -11am. Note: strictly by invitation."
