Area F Command gets PCRC Traffic Corps - ITREALMS

The Area F Command chapter of the Lagos State Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) traffic corps initiative has been officially inaugurated on Thursday, September 24, 2020, reports ITREALMS.

The event which took place at Area F Police Command, which had Area Commander, ACP John Ali Zongo, personally inaugurating the corps, comprising of Area F PCRC traffic corps team, Area Traffic Officer (ATO), all the Divisional Traffic Officers (DTOs) under Area F Command and a team from the Lagos State Traffic Management Agencies (LASMA), Federal Road Safety Corp (FRSC), Neighborhood Watch etc in attendance.

In his opening remarks, the Area Commander, ACP John Ali Zongo expressed joy for this initiative by the State PCRC to partner with Police to tackle traffic in Lagos that is already at the alarming rate.

He also directed his ATO, CSP Akinsola to put the Area F PCRC traffic control volunteers in proper shape by organising training to prepare them for the selfless job to serve humanity.

The Area Commander additionally charged the DTOs to be fully involved to carry the PCRC Divisional volunteers along.

Equally, he appreciated LASTMA and other government agencies in attendance as well as the Command's PCRC Chairman, Rev. Prof. J.A Olatunde, the executive body and entire members of PCRC’s Area F Command for full commitment in the affairs of Police.

The Chairman PCRC in the command, Rev. Prof. J.A. Olatunde appreciated the Area Commander for making out time out of his tight schedule to inaugurate the traffic corps.

“This has shown the importance he attached to this noble initiative to assist police within the command to control traffic,” he said, emphasizing that the current partnership being enjoyed by PCRC which are the source of encouragement to them.

He used the opportunity to welcome other traffic management agencies, the ATO, the DTOs as he enumerated in brief the impact of being part of the solution to traffic menace in the state.

The Area F PCRC Traffic corps committee, Chairman, Chief Emeka Atu who doubles as the 1st Vice Chairman of the Command assured the Area Commander of the committee's readiness to work with the ATO/DTOs and the loyalty of corps members to deliver as he appealed for training to start off.

The Area F traffic corps committee secretary, Elder George M. Okoye, was also in attendance among others.
