The robot, ITREALMS gathered from the students was designed to perform essential medical activities including interfacing between the doctor and patient in addition to delivering medications to patient based on COVID-19 protocols.
The students who made their presentation to the leadership of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) recently was led by the Executive Director, Academy at the school, Mr. Abba Saida.
According to Saida, one of the motivations that led to the design of the robot was the need to reduce the rate at which medical personnel were contracting COVID-19 while on duties.
“This robot is created to reduce the number of physical contact between the medical personnel and the affected patients and this will in return reduce drastically the number of medical personnel that will be affected in the process of carrying out the duties,” he said.
Saida also noted that measures were put in place to ensure the development processes met the international standard, in addition to improving the performance level to cover other aspects of human life.

He also assured of NITDA’s preparedness to support innovative ideas that are meant to solve problems in the country, and urged the students to see future in digital skills because future work in digital.
