NCDC activates two new molecular lab - ITREALMS

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has activated two new molecular laboratory network, reports ITREALMS.



According to NCDC official Twitter handles, these latest labs were located in Osun and Nasarawa States respectively. 
"Osun State University Multidisciplinary Research Laboratory, Osogbo, Osun State; and Nasarawa State Diagnostic Laboratory, Lafia, Nasarawa," NCDC official revealed.

The centre also said that testing at any lab in the NCDC network is free of charge.

Meanwhile, highlights in the week ended Saturday, September 26, 2020, ITREALMS gathered that some 136 new confirmed cases and three (3) deaths were recorded in Nigeria.

ITREALMS also gathered that till date, 58,198 cases have been confirmed, 49,722 cases were discharged and 1,106 deaths were recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

In addition, the 136 new cases are reported from 16 states, namely Lagos recorded 41, Ogun - 27, Rivers - 19, Abia - 10, Oyo - 6, Plateau -6, Bauchi -5, Ondo -5, Ekiti -4, Kaduna -4, Edo -3, Ebonyi -2, Bayelsa -1, Delta -1, Osun -1, and Yobe -1.

Further, 
ITREALMS gathered that a multi-sectoral national Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) was activated at Level 3, to continue coordination of the national response activities.
