The AUDA- NEPAD Communications Unit is currently running an African Youth Art Calendar contest which commenced from November 16, 2020, through December 15, 2020, reports
ITREALMS.

The contest, AUDA said would encourage African youth to innovate and be creative in showcasing the mandate of the AUDA-NEPAD as tied to the Agenda 2063 Vision.
Also, ITREALMS gathered that the youth are encouraged to capture in photographic or art illustrative format, the success stories of Agenda 2063 implementation and the vision thereof.

The contributors will be expected to be innovative and creative in presenting in art format, the images will be used in the AUDA-NEPAD Calendar for 2021.

The contest will be tied to the theme, “Arts, Culture and Heritage for The Africa We Want” and will specifically focus on Youth participation in the context of the AU 2021 theme.

Objectives of the photo and essay contest,
ITREALMS equally gathered, is aimed at harnessing and encouraging innovation among the Youth of Africa by tapping into their creative talent.

"To create awareness around the Agenda 2063 Vision and the role of the AUDA-NEPAD in implementing this vision.

"It is expected that the competition will generate increased traffic to the AUDA-NEPAD via its website and other partner platforms thus deepening and expanding the knowledge of AUDA-NEPAD and its collaboration with partners, especially in implementing the Agenda 2063 vision.

"To involve youth in ‘telling’ the AUDA-NEPAD and Agenda 2063 success stories through graphical and art illustrations."

As such, original photos and graphical art demonstrations are expected to be creative, innovative, and interpretive of the AUDA-NEPAD role in the implementation of Agenda 2063.

Submissions should refer to the broader theme of “Arts, Culture, and Heritage for the Africa We Want.”
