The court is presided over by Justice Dennis Maduechesi.
ITREALMS gathered that Matriarch Margaret
is seeking the court to award her over N51,352,400,000 in damages and cost of litigation.
Also, the Centenarian, ITREALMS gathered, in her statement of claim requested the court to cause the defendants to pay about N1.5bn for disturbing her peace over a piece of land she bought with her late husband in 1957, barely five years after the birth of the Anambra billionnaire, Chief Cletus Ibeto.
Ibeto, ITREALMS equally gathered, was born in November 6, 1952.
Matriarch Margaret had instituted the court action on behalf of the representatives her family except the 12th defendants (her grandson’s wife) and her offspring.
Apart from 12 May 2021, the case would also be heard on the twentieth of May 2021, the twenty-fifth of May 2021 and seventeenth of June 2021.
Further, ITREALMS gathered that court rose when the 15 defendants were not present during the session.
In addition, ABSRadioTv reports that all efforts to speak with the counsels to both parties, namely Barrister Ken Nwanna for the plaintiffs, and that of the defendants, C. Udogalonye Orizu, equally declined interview.
The first plaintiff and the mother of the other plaintiffs, Mrs Margret Onwuelo narrated how herself and her husband acquired the piece of land situated at Abel Okoye Road Egbu Otolo Nnewi in 1953 and later in 1971 when her husband died she and her children gradually commenced work on the parcel of land.
As said by her, they have been enjoying an uninterrupted peaceful possession of the land for the past sixty-seven years without any challenge from any one until December 2019 when some group of people allegedly came to demolish their buildings and carted away their belongings.
