Following the pronouncement on the Ugandan election that President Yoweri Tibuhaburwa Kaguta Museveni allegedly won, the Internet has been restored in the country, reports
ITREALMS.
President Museveni
Despite that the internet in Uganda has been restored, Monday afternoon, ITREALMS gathered that social media is yet to be restored.

ITREALMS gathered that during the period of shutdown, Ugandans resorted mostly to using Virtual Private Network (VPN) for social media.

Ugandans who comment on the issue said it is a shame for the government of Uganda to think that internet shutdown is the solution to fulfill their political agenda during elections.

One of them described the 5-day shutdown as a hell.

"Five days of total internet shutdown felt like hell," he decried.

They also expressed appreciation to the civil society community especially those working on cyber rights for their support to make the internet better for everyone.
