The newly appointed chairman of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC), Mr. Abdulrasheed Bawa, has been advised to embrace Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs), reports
ITREALMS.

The former Minister of Aviation,Chief Osita Benjamin Chidoka, gave this advise at the weekend in his open letter to the new chairman, made available to ITREALMS.

Chidoka pointed out that Bawa has a decision to make as he has history to guide him, wondering how the new EFCC chairman would like to be remaindered.

He urged the 40-year Bawa to take advantage of his age to embrace ICT coupled with global training and on the job experience.

“I think you should embrace technology and work on digitising the commission you promised during your Senate clearance,” he advised.

In addition, Chidoka urged Bawa to purge the commission of the Police analogue and brute force mentality.

Stressing that technology will make Bawa’s team distinct, especially in corruption prevention.

“Technology will make your investigating team productive and help in preventing corruption.”

Further, Chidoka who became Corps Marshal in 2007 at the age of 35 years, noted that Bawa's case may be different since he is from within the EFCC organisation.

Good investigating agencies, Chidoka counselled, do not arrest people and start looking for evidence, but urged him to combine the boldness of Nuhu Ribadu and the meticulousness of DIG Ibrahim Lamorde as his guide.
