The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has joined the rest of the world to celebrate Girls in the field of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) reports ITREALMS.
The Girls’ In ICT is an initiative of the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) declared on April 8, 2011 as the establishment of an International Girls in ICT Day to be held yearly on the fourth Thursday in April.
The 10th anniversary of Girls in ICT Day 2021 is with the theme "Connected Girls, Creating Brighter Futures."
According to NCC sources, Girls in ICT would form a veritable bloc because connected girls, create brighter futures.
ITREALMS gathered that while girls across the world tend to outperform boys in reading and writing skills, they continue to be under-represented in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), according to ITU.

In furtherance, NCC collaborated with eBusinesslife Magazine to host the International Girls in ICT Day in Lagos.
