The President of Nigeria, General Muhammadu Buhari, retired, has appointed Mr. Balarabe Ilelah, a veteran broadcaster as the new Director-General of the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC), reports ITREALMS. Ilelah replaced Prof. Armstrong Idachaba, the immediate past DG of NBC, effective, Friday, June 11, 2021.
Proclaiming the replacement, the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed disclosed this in a press statement issued in Abuja on Friday and made available to ITREALMS.
He said Mr Ilelah’s appointment was for five years tenure in the first instance.
ITREALMS reports that the statement was signed by Mr Segun Adeyemi, the Special Assistant to the President (Media), Office of the Minister of Information and Culture.
