Delta Icon, has reiterated support for consolidation of development beyond year 2023 general elections, reports
ITREALMS.
The group, ITREALMS gathered made up of prominent Deltans across professionals, academics, development practitioners, religious leaders, community and grass root leaders.

Chairman, Delta Icon, Hon. Justice V. I Ofesi (rtd) in a public statement available to
ITREALMS, said the group which has its members across the rights activism and drawn from the three senatorial districts and ethnic nationalities in the state, said they are committed to the development of a greater, more united, developed, prosperous, safe and stronger Delta.

This, the group said, that through the consolidation of the achievements of the Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa’s administration in good governance, development and prosperity in the post 2023 era.

"And through a new leadership that is able, prudent, accountable, dependable; committed to good governance and inclusive growth and development; and that will not be immersed in personality cults and patronage politics," Ofesi said.

He also said that the geographical, ethnic and cultural diversity of Delta State is an inherent strength that has to be harnessed for greatness

The existing rotation of power arrangements amongst the three Senatorial Districts has been and remains a strong foundation for building a greater, united, peaceful and prosperous Delta

"Since the existing precedence of rotational power arrangements has gone full circle among the Senatorial Districts, the circle should begin anew from where it started, which is the Delta Central Senatorial District," they canvassed.

This, Delta Icon pointed out is crucial for fairness, equity, justice and constitutes the basis for continued unity, peace and stability in the state.

Further, they believed that the previous and current administrations in the State have laid a strong foundation of infrastructure, social service delivery, economic growth and peace; which has to be consolidated in the post Delta 2023 era, by an effective, efficient and capable leadership with strong capacity in policy and resource management, prudence and accountability.
