The President of the Nigeria Internet Registration Association (NIRA), Mr. Muhammed Rudman has charged the Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF) to be exemplary in their actions, especially in adoption of .NG domain name, reports ITREALMS.

NGF on the other hand is a coalition of the elected Governors of the country's 36 with claims of non-partisan platform that was created to enhance collaboration among the executive governors in Nigeria.
Speaking to ITREALMS exclusively in reaction to the NGF use of https://nggovernorsforum.org/, NIRA President described it as sad that the leaders advocating for consumption of local content and products are themselves not adopting their national country code on the Internet.
Rudman also lamented that the act of such a body on .org smacks off capital flight from the Nigeria’s domain name industry.
“This constitutes capital flight as the domain is paid in USD, though the amount for a single domain might be small but if other Nigerians emulate same then the amount builds up,” he said.
Rudman pointed out that with the current economic realities “we should all look inwards through purchase of local content; people in government should lead the way.”
ITREALMS investigations revealed that the Nigerian Governor Forum domain, https://nggovernorsforum.org/ was registered on February 27, 2009 with last update made on 19th February 2021, and has been renewed till February 27, 2023.
