Eugene Ikemefuna Juwah: Immediate past EVC@NCC is dead - ITREALMS

The immediate past Executive Vice Chairman (EVC) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Dr. Eugene Ikemefuna Juwah is dead, reports ITREALMS.

Dr. Juwah, ITREALMS gathered died in Canada where he relocated to after tenure expiration in 2015. He was succeeded by Prof. Garba Umar Danbatta at NCC.

Though the family is yet to issue any official statement on his demise, ITREALMS reports that the Delta State-born technocrat was the EVC of NCC between 2010 and 2015, closed sources to the family confirmed his dead.
ITREALMS gathered that late Dr. Juwah was nominated on July 23, 2010, and he assumed office on July 29, 2010 for five-year tenure as EVC at NCC. He was removed on August 4, 2015 following the appointment of Prof. Danbatta in his place by Mr. President, General Mohammadu Buhari, retired.

Late Dr. Eugene Juwah, had over 35 years of experience in information Technology and telecommunication industries with more than 20 years of the above at top management level.

He was reputed to have played significant coordinating roles in the setup of ETACS, GSM and CDMA mobile network in Nigeria, with hands on knowledge of specification and construction of digital exchanges, base stations, data communications and subscriber access networks.

Equally, late Dr. Juwah championed the introduction of Emergency Communication Services, Mobile Number Portability, Subscriber Identification Module (SIM) Card Registration and Broadband Access Expansion.

Late Dr. Eugene Ikemefuna Juwah was a fellow of the some professional bodies including the Nigerian Society of Chemical Engineers, Nigerian Computer Society and Nigerian Society of Engineers to mention but a few.
