ITREALMS ... making leadership SENSE with digital news!
The National Identity Number (NIN) verification portal of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) remain unresolved as at 12am on Tuesday, reports ITREALMS.The technical hitch over the NIN portal,
ITREALMS gathered has lingered for over a week as at the time of filing this report.
Although NIMC acknowledged the Verification Service is temporarily unavailable due to the maintenance by one of the commission’s network service providers, industry watchers see the excuse as unacceptable as the Commission claimed to have multiple layers of backup services.
NIMC portal, ITREALMS reports, facilitates mobile network operators, the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), financial institutions, especially banks to name a few; to verify the National Identity Number of their customers before attending to them, in line with the Federal Government’s directive as part of measures to tame insecurity and illicit flow of funds.
Reacting, NIMC in a press statement available to ITREALMS noted that “The commission apologises for any inconvenience this might cause our esteemed customers, as all hands are on deck to ensure speedy restoration.
“Meanwhile the public can make use of the alternative Tokenisation verification platform.
“For more information on how to use the Tokenisation platform, visit https://wild.nimc.gov.ng,” NIMC said.
