IVED technology: Electoral Institute DG charges INEC officers - ITREALMS

ITREALMS ... making leadership SENSE with digital news!

The Director-General of the Electoral Institute, Dr. Sa'ad Umar Idris, has charged Supervisory Registration Officers (SROs) at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on the mastery of the operations of the Voter Enrolment Device (IVED) technology, reports
ITREALMS.
Dr. Idris, DG, TEI @INEC
The DG gave this charge in a goodwill message to weeklong training of registration officers for the forthcoming Ekiti and Osun Governorship Elections in Ado-Ekiti, pointing out that this technology would be deployed for the electoral purposes.

He said that the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) is an essential aspect of the electoral process that aims to advance the inclusion of eligible citizens in the Voter Register to guarantee the credibility of the process.

Also he said that CVR provides the opportunity for many citizens who were unable to vote at the last Governorship election to exercise their franchise.

Sa’ad pointed out that the deployment of IVED would eliminate the stealing of Permanent Voters Card (PVC) and other associated fraud with voters card in election process.

He, therefore, urged participants of the training to familiarize themselves with the operation of the INEC’s Voter Enrolment Device (IVED) technology.
