There has been increase in killings, shootings and harassment and indiscriminate arrest of innocent citizens in the Isuaniocha community of Anambra State since early hours of Tuesday, April 12, reports ITREALMS.
Confirming this to ITREALMS, the lawyers to the community led by Barr. Chukwudi Nweke, in a petition to IGP cited by our correspondence, alleged a ground plan to set up Bakassi Boys in Isuaniocha using Police cover for protection of lives and properties; a step they claimed is fueling communal clash and breach of existing peace in the community.
A reliable source, ITREALMS gathered, had alleged that on Saturday, April 9, 2022 that one Festus Onyeagolu arrived from Ghana, his base, boasting that he mapped out some N3b to take over where his younger brother Anthony Onyeagolu; who is currently standing attempted murder trial of one Chidiebele Okoye who was shot to die on November 18, 2018 and for the murder trial of Angus Okoye who was kidnapped and killed on December 16, 2018.
They also alleged, Onyeagolu is conniving with Supol Matthew Abu Michael, to ensure that Isuaniocha community bows to their dictates or lose more lives and properties.
“One of those threats was carried out early morning yesterday being Tuesday, 12/4/22 to confirm the authenticity of the source where a tenant in one of the compounds in Isuaniocha community was mistaken to youth chairman's first son, Chisom and shot dead which was confirmed by the fellow tenant who pleaded anonymity what he heard from the deceased before he gave up the ghost due to uncontrollable loss of blood,” our source declared.
Early morning of Wednesday, April 13, 2022, our source equally alleged, the same people came into the community with sophisticated armed supposedly Police and hired Bakassi Boys made up of the same criminals that committed the murder who are at large led by one of the suspects, one Moses Emebo standing trial with Anthony Onyeagolu on both cases above bounced on youth chairman's residence at Umuelom village for usual arrest and took away the two under age sons of youth chairman, younger siblings to the one targeted yesterday to kill before killing the wrong person.
“Reliable source reaching us now that they are on ground again now by 9:00am in the community shooting sporadically and the entire community, children, men and women are on the run now for safety which was confirmed through phone calls from those on the run.
It will be recalled that the same entourage of Police and hired bakassi boys from Awka with 10 vehicles and over 50 armed personnel according to the eyewitness on Tuesday 12/4/22, the supposed day to elect a new Igwe but was scattered by them as one of their plans not to have a new Igwe to avoid compounding their problems.
Such arrest was also repeated on Wednesday, 16/3/22; where they arrested so many innocent citizens to collect various sums to release some and took about six people to Abuja till date including a mentally derailed person under torture to accept what they did not do or know.
“It will be mentioned here that Festus Onyeagolu is and has been the financier of all the crises and atrocities happening in the community since 2014 that have led to so many deaths including the ones mentioned above in connivance with his Police friend in crime Supol Matthew Abu Michael of admin department, Force Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (FCID) who has been anchoring his series of cases with community since 2014 on paid basis.
The petitioners recalled that since the attempted murder and murder cases on their neck in 2018 that made them to run away from the community as murderers, the community has been under terrorist attacks at one time or the other with their ill-gotten wealth to frustrate the two cases under the supervision of Supol Matthew Abu Michael who is bent on suppressing the murder-related cases right from 2018 till date.
“This recent twist in the community since 12th March, 2022 till date is the ground plan of Supol Matthew Abu Michael for them to take over the community by portraying the community in bad light to the senior Police officers at Abuja and CP Anambra State who knew nothing about the nitty gritty of Isuaniocha crises and smartly secured all the approvals needed to achieve his personal agreement with the murderers,” they said.
They further alleged that those are the hidden agenda of Supol Matthew Abu Michael of FCID, hence he will not like the IGP, DIG FCID and CP Anambra State to know.
