Nigerians have lampooned the Minister of State for Education, Chief Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba for purchasing the All Progressives Congress (APC’s) presidential form for the 2023 election at the sum of N100m, reports ITREALMS.
Nwajiuba, ITREALMS gathered was on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 in Abuja paid in full for APC nomination and declaration of interest forms for the 2023 presidential election.

Those who spoke on Nwajiuba’s nomination and declaration of interest for the 2023 presidential election as insensitive consider that Nigerian students of higher institutions have been on strike under the aegis of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) which has been on for some 72 days with no end in sight.

Sources close to Nwajiuba, informed that he obtained both forms after a group who called itself “Project Nigeria,” allegedly combined funds amounting to N100m on his behalf.

ITREALMS also gathered that Nwajiuba, an indigene of Imo State has been minister of state for Education following his appointment by President Muhammadu Buhari in August 2019.

His decision has started drawing criticism from many public commentators who believe it is insensitive considering Nigerian students are currently at home due to a strike occasioned by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).

ITREALMS recalls that the latest guideline of the APC entails that all political appointees who aspire to contest are to resign at least 30 days before the conduct of the primaries slated for May.

Also, CKN News reported that Chris Ngige, the Minister of Labour and Employment; and the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, are some other Ministers who have officially declared interest in the 2023 presidency, while none have formally resigned as stipulated by APC guidelines.
