Chapter chair urges OOUAA members on institutional development - ITREALMS

The Chairman, Lagos State chapter of Olabisi Onabanjo University Alumni Association (OOUAA), Alhaji Lukman Idris, has urged all former students of the institution to contribute to the development of the university, reports ITREALMS.
Idris made this call at the second editions of OOUAA Market Square with the theme: "Another Great Opportunity to Expand Your Business Network" which held in Lagos, recently with lots of vendors majorly alumna, exhibiting their products and networking.

He pointed out that through members' active participation at different platforms both online and physical which have been created for the advancement of the alumni association which is a section of OOUAA.

The Chairman reiterated the executives commitment to build solidarity and support among members through mentoring and networking.

He also enjoined the university administrators to ensure communication flow between them and OOUAA.

"We require a better partnership between the alumni and the university administrators than it is at the moment. There is too much tension and interference at the moment, hence, the lack of sustainable progress in terms of being able to give back to our alma mater," he said.

Equally speaking the Social Secretary of OOUAA Lagos Chapter, Mr. Adekunle Johnson said the event which coincided with the alumni quarterly meeting had 15 registered vendors while fourteen were in attendance to showcase their products at the event.

He tasked all former OSU/OOUites to embrace the event and use the avenue for more social network in order to bridge the gap between the old and younger ones.

"The OOU Market Square is excos" initiative which has given birth to various activities like Easter fiesta, picnics, quarterly meeting aside the networking, the connectivity by the excos' brainstorming has shown that we need more members to key-in to build the bridges between the old and younger ones so that everybody can be a full-fledge member," he said.
Further he assured that another edition of Market Square will be coming up before the year ends which will be a three in 3-in-1 namely branding, exhibition and events.

In the same vein, Financial Secretary, OOU Alumni Lagos Chapter, Mrs Adekoya Adepeju stated that the motives for market square was to encourage members to showcase their businesses among themselves as well as the outside world whilst networking.
