Former lawmaker in Anambra State, Hon. Nelson Emeka Achukwu, popularly known as Ogbatuluenyi has be reportedly beheaded by his abductors after collecting the sum of N15m, reports ITREALMS.
This follows the discovery of his decomposing body after two weeks of his kidnap by unknown gun men, just one month after Okechukwu Okoye, a serving lawmaker representing Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s constituency at the State Assembly was kidnapped and later found beheaded.
Just as the Anambra State Police Command has confirmed the killing and beheading of a former state lawmaker, Hon. Nelson Emeka Achukwu by unknown gunmen.
Achukwu, ITREALMS also gathered, was a former member of Anambra State House of Assembly despite being physically challenged was kidnapped on June 8th around 10:15pm from his home in Ukpor, Nnewi South LGA, Anambra State.
Police has since confirmed that Hon. Achukwu's decapitated body was later found at the bank of Ulasi river and was quickly buried by the family on Tuesday, 21st June, 2022, because his body has started decomposing.
According to a family source, they could not believe he would be killed after they had paid the 15 million naira ransom requested by his abductors.
Barr. Nelson Emeka Achukwu was popular during the administration of Dr. Chris Ngige.
As gathered, the gunmen had abducted and released him a few months ago, but Hon. Achukwu had told family members on his release that the gunmen accused him of providing information to the military but got released when they found out the allegations levelled against him were false.
The reason for his second kidnap and murder was unknown.
