The Internet Society (ISOC) Nigeria chapter, has commended the ECOWAS Court of Justice on its ruling over the ban on Twitter and warned the Federal Government never to repeat such action against the citizenry, reports ITREALMS.

According to him, aside he good news that the judgement proclaimed, the court also made it clear to the Federal Government never again to met such an action on the populace.
“More importantly, is the stern warning of the court to the Nigerian Government never to repeat this action against her citizens again,” he said.
ISOC NG, he said, congratulated all Nigerian Internet users and “we are very appreciative of the efforts of all Civil Society Organizations and legal teams at the forefront of this digital rights litigation who helped to ensure that our digital rights are secured.”

At the Internet Society, he said, they would continue to believe that everyone deserves digital freedom within the ambit of the law and the right to access information.
Stressing that all credit must go the CSOs who participated actively on this litigation to reaffirm the rights of citizens on social media rights.
