INEC redeploys 2 RECs, ICT director, 7 others - ITREALMS

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has redeployed two Resident Electoral Commissioners (RECs) and some directors including Engineer Chidi Nwafor, the erstwhile Director, Information and Communications Technology (ICT), reports ITREALMS.

With the latest redeployment, Engr. Nwafor has been sent to Enugu State office as the Administrative Secretary, and has been replaced by Engineer Paul Omokore, with immediate effect.

The National Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee at INEC, Chief Festus Okoye said on Tuesday, that “the redeployments take immediate effect and that handing and taking over should be concluded on/or before Friday, August 26.”

ITREALMS, Okoye recalled that on 24 March 2022, the commission redeployed 385 staff nationwide, stressing they had announced that this will be a routine exercise which will continue from time to time.

“In line with the exant policy, the commission hereby redeploys two Resident Electoral Commissioners (RECs) and eight directorate level staff” he said.

ITREALMS gathered that the two redeployed RECs included Mr. Cyril Omorogbe, who has been sent from Cross River State to Akwa Ibom State and Alalibo Johnson Sinikiem who is now in Cross River State from Edo State.

Also, ITREALMS gathered that this redeployment affected Engineer Paul Omokore, Director, Planning & Monitoring Department, Headquarters, Abuja, who is now the Director ICT, Headquarters, Abuja; Mr Chima Duruaku is before now was the Administrative Secretary, Anambra State, is now Director, Planning & Monitoring Department, Headquarters, Abuja.

Equally, Mr. Jude Okwuanu, former Administrative Secretary, Enugu State has been sent to Anambra State as Administrative Secretary; the Acting Director, Human Resource Management, Headquarters, Abuja, Usman Musa Wase has been sent to Nasarawa State as Acting Administrative Secretary; while the Director, Electoral Operations Department, Mr Salisu Garba has been redeployed as Director Procurement, Headquarters, Abuja.

In addition, Barr. Waziri Zanna until now was the Acting Administrative Secretary, FCT has been sent as Acting Director, Human Resource Management, Headquarters, Abuja and Mr. Godwin Wada Edibo, who previously was the Acting Administrative Secretary, Nasarawa State has been brought to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) as Acting Administrative Secretary.
