The oil-rich state of Akwa-Ibom has been described as the Nigeria’s best kept secret, just as the state celebrates 35th year after creation, reports ITREALMS.
This, he said, steams from the number of infrastructural developments in the state with capacity to leverage Information and Communications Technologies (ICTs) for youth empowerment.
He also revealed that Akwa-Ibom is now second to Lagos in terms of commercial viability.
Under the current administration of Governor Udom Emmanuel, he said, they are working at surpassing people’s expectations and their own targets.
Ekuwem equally assured that the state has what it takes to elevate the national gross domestic products as Akwa-Ibom continues to be attractive bride as far as foreign direct investment is concerned due to astute leadership of Gov. Udom Emmanuel.

As said by him, Akwa Ibom is the Nigeria’s best kept secret, and is becoming the industrial destination for the West African subregion, for increase in job creation.
The SSG cited an instance of employing over 400 indigenes at the St Gabriel Coconut Oil Factory at Mkpat Enin among others.
ITREALMS recalled that Akwa Ibom State is located in the South-South geopolitical zone of Nigeria, flanked in the east by Cross River State, on the west by Rivers State and Abia State, whereas on the south by the Atlantic Ocean. The state takes its name from the Qua Iboe River which intersects the state before flowing into the Bight of Bonny. Akwa Ibom was a split from Cross River State in 1987 with her capital Uyo by Nigeria’s Military President, Ibrahim Badamasi Babagida and currently has 31 local government areas (LGA).
Also, Akwa Ibom prides itself as the 30th largest in area and fifteenth most populous with an estimated population of nearly 5.5 million as at 2016 census.
