Some Community-Based Organisations (CBOs) have started to extend their advocacy outreach for improved health sector to private schools in Lagos on AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (ATM)-related, reports ITREALMS.
Tejumola in the company of TB Network coordinator, Mrs. Ifelunwa Aipoh, said at least two private schools' proprietors have been approached by member CBOs to assist the Isheri Primary Health Centre.
Although she did not disclose the names of the schools but expressed excitement over the extension of the hands of followship to private sector which promises to be useful in the coming months.
Stressing that some of these private school owners have promised to assist in sorting out some challenges of the Isheri PHC after listening to their team.
She also enjoined members to scale up their timely report so as to improve on the processes of quality health care delivery in Lagos State.
Some of the issues brought before the October meeting of the group, specifically for fueling of generating set, lack of adequate chairs and bench for patients, beds at the wards.
She further noted the importance for tiling of the floors of Isheri PHC so as to make the environment more welcoming for patients, as well as availability of AntiRetroViral (ARV).
"HIV-AIDS services are needed, especially for test and drugs at Isheri PHC," she said.
Antiretroviral, she said is a drug used to prevent a retrovirus, such as HIV, from replicating.
