A combination of American Army and Department of State Security (DSS) team stormed the Phase 3 of Trademore Estate in Lugbe, Abuja, on a sting operation, with explosive and pistols recovered, reports ITREALMS. 

Reports reaching ITREALMS news desk informed that a high-powered sting operation took place at the Phase 3 of the Trademore Estate in Lugbe, Wednesday afternoon, culminating in a complete shutdown of the estate.

“A combination of American Army and our DSS team were responsible,” an official bulletin from the Estate management read.

Although, they were unable to give full details of the reasons behind the operation, ITREALMS gathered that it was alleged to have connection to terrorist activities.

They, therefore, advised residents to remain vigilant, know their neighbours and report any suspicious movement, person or activities to the Exco, Street Reps and or the Police.

“We will continue to do our utmost best to keep the estate safe for all of us. Everyone is responsible for security and there should no iota of abdication of this responsibility,” residents were charged.

ITREALMS equally gathered that @talktoshe_ng on his twitter handle, shared a seeming eyewitness account, alleging that 2 pistols and boxes of explosives were found at a Boys Quarter (BQ) rented by a suspected terrorist.

He said, it was gathered that the churches along the same axis include Living Faith, Redeemed and Catholic were the targets.

The man in question, ITREALMS gathered, has been surveilling the area for weeks.

Sources, further revealed that arming the bomb was what triggered the alert.

Meanwhile, the United States Embassy and Consulate in Nigeria has approved departure status for some employees due to suspected heightened risk of terrorist attacks in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja.

The embassy, ITREALMS gathered in a security notice entitled ‘Authorised departure status’ made available to citizens on Wednesday from Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) of Nigeria, noted that on October 25, 2022, the U.S. Department of State granted authorized departure status to Embassy Abuja.

This, ITREALMS also gathered, permits the voluntary departure of family members and certain employees due to the heightened risk of terrorist attacks.
